National Healthcare and Government Regulation Poll

Recent national polling reveals strong bipartisan support for healthcare transparency and workforce reforms

Most voters believe healthcare prices should be transparent, requiring medical providers to disclose the true cost of simple procedures before patients agree to treatment (82% overall). A majority (54%) also believe qualified doctors practicing medicine in another country should not be required to repeat their residency training when they come to the United States.

Voters want more Americans to have access to opportunity. 72% of voters support allowing state governments to accept work experience as a substitute for college degrees for many open jobs with the knowledge it could help government agencies run more efficiently and could support military veterans (81%).

When it comes to regulations, a majority (60%) of voters understand that regulations hurt small businesses more than large corporations, and 75% support requiring states to periodically review regulations and determine whether they should be eliminated.

Results for this poll were collected using a sampling frame that gathered responses from 1,159 likely national voters during live calls, online panels, and automated telephone interviews conducted by Cor Strategies, Inc.

The survey was conducted October 7–11, 2024. The margin of sampling error is ±2.94 percentage points. The margin of sampling error may be higher or lower for subgroups. Results presented may not always appear to total 100 percent due to rounding.

Data were post-stratified using weighted demographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Current Population Survey Voting and Registration Supplement and the state election authorities.

Demographic information for actual voters in past elections was used to construct sample target weights.
