Research Assistant/Policy Analyst
The Cicero Institute is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, self-starter to join our policy team as a Research Assistant or Policy Analyst. As a part of Cicero’s policy team, you will be responsible for research and writing to supporting the creation of state-focused policy reforms.
The Research Assistant/Policy Analyst will work with key personnel to produce quality research and written work product. They are responsible for working both independently and with teams to create, improve, and complete ambitious and industry leading research projects and reforms.

RESPONSIBILITIES
The Research Assistant/Policy Analyst will:
- Assist members of the policy team with all research and collateral development for policy proposals and related advocacy work.
- Draft and edit research papers and position pieces.
- Generate data driven insight and analytics to create concrete, detailed research used to inform policy reforms.
- Prepare briefs for members of the team on policy talks, papers, news, and other relevant items of interest.
- Research projects for other Cicero team members as requested.
REQUIREMENTS
- Self-starter, detail-oriented, flexible, highly organized, and able to manage multiple high-priority projects at once.
- Strong writing, argumentation, critical thinking, and reasoning skills.
- The ability to identify key information and convey it concisely in written and spoken form.
- Intellectual curiosity.
- Able to adapt to feedback from team members and key audiences.
- Data analysis and/or coding skills are a plus, but not required.
The Research Assistant position is an entry-level position. Title is based on experience and performance.
